Daniel is a Salvadoran-American producer, director, writer, and editor based in Los Angeles. His films have been selected at festivals including True/False, Blackstar, Atlanta, New Orleans, Bentonville, ICARO, Costa Rica Shorts, and more. They have been exhibited in art spaces such as The Museum for Memory and Image in El Salvador, Human Resources LA, and Coaxial Arts. His projects have received the support of Sundance Institute, MacArthur Foundation, Blackstar Projects, CentraDoc, and Burbuja Lab.
Daniel has extensive experience working as an associate producer, field producer, and post supervisor for Oscar and Emmy-winning and nominated companies like Tremolo Productions, Actual Films, and Storied Studios. He spent years working for Sundance Institute's Documentary Film Fund, and his writing has been published by Film Independent and Documentary Magazine. He is a member of the Documentary Producer's Alliance.
Daniel created ZONTO with the dream of championing projects and artists with progressive, daring, and liberating visions. He is especially invested in supporting developing artists from Central America and its diaspora.
